The Secret To Beautiful Skin

I first photographed Mrs. Rock near Madison Avenue a few months ago. She was in a hurry, so I quickly took her photo and handed her my card. Ever since then, I have walked up and down Madison looking for her. I wanted to tell her that she is in the Advanced Style Book, and hoped to interview her about her style and beauty secrets. About a month ago, I received an email from her saying that she saw her photograph in a New York Times article about the book. I was thrilled to hear that she wanted to meet for lunch, and couldn't wait to photograph her again.
Yesterday Mrs. Rock and I finally met up for a wonderful lunch and inspiring conversation. She told me that ever since she set foot in New York City, as a little girl, she knew that she would make it her home. She loves the theater that takes place on the streets of New York and can't imagine living anywhere else. Like many of the Advanced Style ladies Mrs. Rock believes in the power of a great hat, not only as, " an organizational tool," but also as a great way to stay out of the sun. She also revealed that the secret to great skin is to keep it lubricated and fresh. Beauty products don't have to cost a fortune. Mrs. Rock swears by the Vaseline products that her mother first introduced her to as a young girl. Watch the video above to hear more about her favorite products including her wonderful Revlon lipstick.

She is adorable! I wish I knew exactly which Vaseline products she used for her face and eyes. Of course good genes is a plus.

My grandmother used Vaseline too! And a whole bunch of other lotions. People were always amazed how young and soft her skin was even in her 70s was because she kept it moisturized all the time!

Would love to look as classy as this woman some day!

Yes, she is beautiful. Vaseline is the way to go.I too use it because it works to keep lines away and cheap it is. Mrs. Rock is just so elegant. Very nice. Thanks.

I love the way she speaks. Of course I like the way she dresses as well, but that voice... That's something. So classy.

Classy, classy, classy, classy, classy...

And she so looks like another classy lady, whom you have shown here, many times before. A singer... But of course, her name eludes me, at the moment...

Love her devotion to "her" color! I happened to have a tube of generic "creamy petroleum jelly" (30% petrolatum in water and mineral oil) beside my desk and will start slathering myself with it -- never too late to start!

This woman looks fantastic! Seriously, a woman in her thirties would be happy to have skin like hers. Just goes to show how important sun protection is, I guess. And her outfit is perfection! I hope you have lots more photo sessions with her. I've never commented on your site, but I may have to visit more often now! That woman is inspiring. I'm going to look around for some hats now.

One of the best tips forever is to drink plenty of water. It is recommended that drinking 8 to 10 glasses of water per day keeps you hydrated and stay away from pimples.

Vaseline apparently is a miracle product. The little Vietnamese woman who does my manicures (which is far and few between, I only manage to organize it about 2 or 3 times a year, and have ratty hands the rest of the time) is about 40 years old and has FABULOUS hands. Her secret? She uses Vaseline. Think I better start using it EVERYWHERE....
